Rather than placing photos in one of our books, think about other possibilities!
For aspiring writers, this is a chance to have their thoughts, stories, poems or songs published in a real book!
You have a manuscript ready, but not a single publishing company is interested in bringing your work to print....what to do next?
Well, at Treasure-Book.com we print any quantity required!
You can order 1 book, 5, 10, 100, even 500.......and...as soon as volume starts to become a number over 10 copies, talk to us to see what kind of volume discounts could be available to you.
Just think about the opportunities....
How to do this as painless as possible?
Placing large amounts of text inside our book pages isn't all that complicated.
You can simply type the text with the help of a word processor such as MS Word, use all its features, work fast, spell-check the tedious work done...
Then, when all that is completed, start our photo book software and select the format of book that you would like to make.
For a lot of writing, the 8.5 x 11 in portrait could be your best choice, for poetry the 8.5 x 8.5 square format is an excellent choice.
Anyway, any of the formats that we have works fine with writing, I can even see the 4 x 6 as a suitable size, specially if it is supposed to be a book that can be carried around easily, it fits a purse or a backpack comfortably.
Once a format is selected, you can start filling the pages.
Remember, 20 pages is the minimum we accept to print and each book maxes out at 200.
Start on page 1, minimize the software and open the word processor file.
Copy all the text of your first book page to the clipboard (highlight all text, right click and select "copy").
Then maximize the photo book software and go to page 1.
Right click on the page and select "insert"
Then select: "insert a caption"
The caption box (or text box) appears on the page. Double click on "Type your text here"
Next, use your keyboard and press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys simultaneously.
All the text from your first word processor page file will now be pasted inside this text box.
Click on the corners of the text box to drag it out into directions that you want the text to show on the page and also in a way that all text is visible.
You can manoeuvre the text box and place it in the required location on the page.
Make sure that you stay 1 inch (2.5 cm) away from the gutter of the book, otherwise a part of the text may disappear during the binding process. For a clean look, use the same 1 inch rule also on the outer edges of your pages.
Just look at any book that you own and you will see that it will show a healthy space from the edges of the paper, allowing for an easy, comfortable read.
Once page 1 is done, repeat these steps for each and every consecutive page, until the book is complete.
Enhance the reading experience with the insertion of some colour backgrounds, perhaps a few photographs, sketches or anything else that your creative mind can come up with.
In the coming days I will try to find a way to make this process even easier and quicker.
I know there is a tool out there that makes it possible to convert image files such as Jpeg or PDF's back to a word processing page, very handy if these pages contain a lot of text in case that text needs editing. The other way round would be super handy too....
So I am currently trying to come up with a tool that can save word processor files in the Jpeg format.....Then, we can simply suggest our readers and software users to have their typed pages saved as a Jpeg and subsequently place the text pages as images inside their book creation with the help of our software.....
Stay tuned, we will report on this topic soon!
